Changes to Department of Immigration and Border Protection Import Processing Charges from 1st January 2016
The Department of Immigration & Border Protection (DIBP) also referred to as Australian Customs, have decided to restructure the Import Processing Charges (IPC). DIBP have advised that the IPC cost recovery will be used to support a number of significant reforms aimed at improving the integrity of the border.
From 1st January, 2016 Importers will see an increase in the IPC that are applied to an Import Declaration where the value exceeds A$1,000, as follows:
